About MALICE:
Malice was formed as an original local band out of Hattiesburg Mississippi in 1998. As a rock band we had no intentions of becoming Stars overnight. It was the love of music that we all had that led us to where we are today. In 2000 Malice had the pleasure of meeting the late Clyde Holly at Holly House Records in Biloxi Mississippi to record our first album. Album Number One was Malice "Perfect day". In 2002 Malice went back to the studio at Holly House Records to record their second album, "It'll never change" . After Malice recorded Perfect day the infamous Dr. Bob from Z-95 fm in Gulfport took Malice under his wing to help promote us. Dr. Bob would play us in rotations at night to help push Malice's music to the General Public to help start a fan base for Malice. This went on for a few years until the death of our drummer.
Perfect day album, band members lineup was Paul Clark Rhythm/lead guitarist, Shane Myers lead vocalist, Billy Ashley lead guitarist, James Ray Anderson bassist. The 2nd. album It'll never change band members lineup consisted of Kendrick lead vocalist, Paul Clark Rhythm/lead guitarist backup vocals, Billy Ashley Lead guitarist, James Ray Anderson bassist, Eddie Cleveland keyboardist. All of malice members from 1998 to 2017 are all native to Mississippi.
The last 20 years Malice has had their ups and downs one of the worst being, the loss of our drummer Jim Ferrier.He was the heartbeat of Malice for 15 years , This was a crucial blow for the band and seemed just about hopeless to recover from mainly because he helped build the band up for the first initial 15 years of Malice's existence. Over the next three years after Jim's death Malice went through several drummer trying to find the right fit to continue his legacy along with resurrecting Malice's music again. In 2015 Randy Frierson was in the driver seat behind the drums for Malice.
Through the years of Malice existence, several band members came and went. Malice settled with these five members. Billy Ashley was Lead guitarist, James Ray Anderson was bass player, Eddie Kendrick was lead vocalist, Shane Myers was vocalist, Paul Clark lead vocalist, lead/Rhythm guitarist. After Jim's death the band went through a total transformation, new members were sought after, and the new lineup ended up being Paul Clark vocalist rhythm/lead guitar, Clayton Hendry lead guitarist, Mark Stewart bassist, Randy Frierson drummer. As a band, Malice has said before, we never intend on becoming rich and famous, or overnight Stars, just being musicians and loving music we want to present good original rock and roll for our fans to enjoy and share with others. We promote nothing but our original music and the hopes that our fans will want to hear more from us.
