About Ms. June Juanico-
June Juanico (born 19 November 1938) was Elvis Presley’s “First True Love”, from Biloxi, Mississippi, whom the famous rock 'n' roll singer dated in 1955 and 1956, for instance, when he took three weeks of vacation after having recorded his songs "Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel" in the studio in Memphis, Tennessee. June Juanico had met Presley for the first time after one of his early concerts in Biloxi in 1955, when he was on the verge of the superstardom.
June Juanico is a native of Biloxi, MS and is well renowned for her fascinating, and in depth, book about her time with the late worldwide phenomenon known as Elvis Presley. She first encountered the King of Rock N Roll the way many did: on the stage. Even though she entered the concert at the Keesler Air Force Base hesitantly, having tagged along with a friend, she soon found herself infatuated with the icon. Elvis and June met that very same evening during the intermission of his concert by the restrooms. Elvis persuaded June to show her Biloxi, a sightseeing tour that ended at dawn with a kiss from the King. From there, a three year relationship bloomed and she was marked down into history as “The only woman Elvis’ mother approved of.”
June has become a fascination over the years with her many interesting tales of the “private” side of the King of Rock N Roll, including a book entitled Elvis in the Twilight of Memory. This look into the emotional side of Elvis brought fans the true essence of the man, not just the figure on stage, but someone deeper. June Juanico helped to humanize Elvis Aaron Presley as a man full of love, character, and, of course, music galore. June has been featured in numerous documentaries about Elvis; including Elvis in Hollywood, Elvis and June: A Love Story, Elvis: Return to Tupelo, Kings of Rock N Roll, Elvis: Summer of ‘56, and Elvis Home Movies. While her relationship with Elvis did not last very long, the loving tales and nature of Elvis presented in June’s talks and in her popular book will preserve their relationship throughout the test of time.
