Commander Joseph William Clark is the President and founder of The Mississippi Music Project. Joe is married to the beautiful and talented Alisa Clark and they have one daughter, Alexis Paige, whom is the co-founder of the Organization. Commander Joe Clark has been involved on our nations military, politics and the music industry for many years he is nationally recognized for his work in the community and for his support of Veteran Organizations and projects. “The Commander” and Alexis Paige have initiated, “The Mississippi Music Project” as a way to help promote the incredible local talent in our great state and to honor those in the industry that have contributed to the musical heritage of the state of Mississippi. Joe spends many hours reaching out to the talent in the state, counseling and encouraging them to reach their goals and providing guidance where it is requested or needed. Joe’s musical career started at the age of 8 in Detroit, Michigan. Joe became an accomplished trumpet player and has performed for many events and will tell you that he most takes pride in the Military Honors he has provided over the years for our deceased military and veterans. Joe’s ability to perform as a trumpet player was taken away after he was involved in two military events during the Balkan War in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Joe was in a vehicle that struck a landmine and was further injured when captured and beaten in the capital city of Sarajevo, during a military mission. Despite the injuries that prevented Joe from continuing his career as a trumpet player, Joe had studied multiple instruments and regularly perform as a percussionist and loves playing the drums. He is also trained on the piano among other instruments. Joe studied music history and learned to write and transpose music.
Joe’s extensive network of industry professionals and celebrities only emphasizes his ability to communicate greatly at the highest levels and his professionalism is constantly demonstrated and his ability to guide and direct people as a leader is what draws the attention of industry professionals nation-wide.
Joe plans on creating the largest and most honored music organization in the state of Mississippi, if not the entire gulf coast and he is well on his way. Joe is currently writing a book based on Elvis Presley’s time in Mississippi from his birth to the years he spent on the Gulf Coast.
