Born in McComb, MS on December 30, 1928, Bo Diddley grew up on the south side of Chicago where he honed his craft and developed his unique style. His first hit, the self-named "Bo Diddley," was released on the infamous Chess record label in March, 1955 and it revolutionized the way popular music has been played ever since. His pulsating rhythm, which became known as "The Bo Diddley Beat," has been used by just about every important rock musician, including The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Chrissy Hynde, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, and many more. The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Bo was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. He passed away at his home in Archer, FL on June 2, 2008 surrounded by his family and close friends. Rock with the angels, Bo! We love and miss you, and celebrate you always!
