About Aaron Coker:
Longtime musician/singer/ songwriter and Pearl, MS native, Aaron Coker has kept the music scene alive with his diverse southern rock style. Playing guitar since the tender age of 9, it inspired him to write his first song before he was out of high school.
His dependability, appreciative attitude, promotional creativeness and ability to entertain and hold an audience has kept him in a rotation in Mississippi venues for over 10 years. He has put together over 4 hours of music that covers country, blues, southern / alt / hard rock including a dozen originals, one of which aired on Jackson's own rock station Rock 93.9. The Aaron Coker Band brings the fans what they want with originals that are deep and meaningful to hard hitting and powerful. This band is on the rise!
Coker and his band were nominated, performed and won big at the 2015 Mississippi Music Awards securing 2 of the 7 awards given. Winning "Artist of the Year" and "Song of the Year" for the Nashville recorded original "I'll Ride", this was certainly what he thought was the highlight of his musical career! But just around the corner was another nomination and subsequent WIN of not only "Artist / Band of the Year" in the prestigious 2016 MS Music Awards but an exciting win at the 2016 Josie Music Awards in Nashville for "Rock Entertainer of the Year" and the very sought after AMG Heritage Award for "Group of the Year"! Not one to disappoint, another nomination for the band and original song "Down In Mississippi" turned into a 3rd straight win for "Artist of the Year" in the 2017 MS Music Awards.
Coker has been a member of the Artists Music Guild since 2015. He performed and was nominated in several categories including New Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year in the 2015 AMG Heritage Awards. Being honored with nominations again in 2016, he was selected by the Artists Music Guild board members to take part in a week-long Conference the week leading up to the awards show. After making the top 5 nominations for Song of the Year for his original "Angels Tears", surprised was an understatement when the Aaron Coker Band was named Winner of the highly coveted AMG Heritage Award for "Group of the Year"!!
He has also had the privilege of being interviewed by radio greats such as MS Music Foundation's Kurl Jones on MSMF Radio, Marshall Ramsey syndicated cartoonist and host of MPB Think Radio, Gearshift Gary host of Saturday Night Sessions on EZ877fm, Canada's own AMG Comedian of the Year Joe Crawford of The Joe Show / Joe Crawford LIVE and Nelene Ledford radio host at WLEZ FM 98.1!
